[It's about three in the morning on Tay's third night at chez Gaura's when their new houseguest stumbles in accidentally making a bit of a racket. His heels don't help and after fumbling in the kitchen for a few minutes the sound of something breaking can be overheard, followed by a few curses.
When Gaura comes in, he'll find a very drunk Tay attempting to pick up the pieces of a coffee mug. His knuckles are scraped on one hand and there's an angry red mark on his cheek. His shirt had been neat when he left, but now it's unkempt and some of the buttons are gone.]
[Getting up, Gaura tucks a robe around him as he goes out to investigate. There he finds what must be Tay coming in late. He doesn't judge him though and simply comes over to kneel down to help him with the mug.
He sees the mark on his cheek then immediately forgets it as he looks down at those knuckles. Frowning in concern, he reaches out to take his hand.]
[Gaura goes over to start making the coffee, setting it to start brewing while he goes to get some ice, herbs, and a couple cloths. These he brings over and kneels so he can look over that hand.]
[He blinks at the sudden pants drop then encourages Tay to sit down before starting to help his friend out his clothes so that way he can see if there's anything else.]
I'll take care of it. Relax here.
[Folding the clothes up, he sets them to the side with the plans to clean and repair them before he goes to sleep. Then he grabs the coffee to put next to Tay before he kneels down to start treating all the little cuts and bruises.]
[It hadn't been the most graceful act, but Tay had managed not to fall over. Whether he's unaffected by being seen like this because he really doesn't care or because he's drunk off his ass is hard to tell.
It's not hard to get him to sit again and he immediately reaches for the coffee.]
It's probably good Time wasn't there. He wouldn't have liked me taking a risk and asking so many questions. How else are you going to learn about a place though and who is who? You gotta ask. They make a scene of showing you your place, but I know the drill, you know? If you see him, tell him to relax. I know what I'm doing.
[He lets his friend ramble on as he takes care of anything he finds, eventually spotting the mark on his face again and this time making sure to encourage Tay to hold cloth wrapped ice on it. Then he's back to taking care of everything, gently applying crushed herbs to cuts.
It's probably amazing it doesn't sting for him to do that but he does know what he's doing.]
[Isn't that usually the best way to deal with drunk people? He makes a slight hiss when he puts the ice pack against his face, but otherwise Tay is pretty relaxed about the whole thing.
Besides his knee, hands, and face there fortunately aren't many other injuries and those others are minor. If he was sober, he would've appreciated Gaura's gentle touch more.
And yes, Tay is still rambling.]
I've never really had to do this before. Everyone knows the Theerapanyakul family and the danger of messing with their people. New place, new families though, I guess.
[He shrugs.]
Why don't you do more with your looks? You're very pretty.
[The Theerapanyakul family is dangerous? Hm. He must have invited a criminal to live with them. Well, Tay has been very nice to them and he's a friend now. So Gaura is just not going to worry about that fact as he finishes up and goes to make something for Tay to eat so that way he can soak up some of the alcohol to avoid a hangover the next day.]
Am I?
[He asks partially to let his friend continue to ramble and partially because, well, he really doesn't know.]
[It's just a little sandwich but it'll be good for the alcohol. He brings this over to set next to Tay, sure that the man will eat it without prompting. Drunk people usually do.]
A magazine? I didn't know I'd be good for that.
[It's not like he knows what faces look like on those covers.]
[Tay is so strongly expecting a denial of some kind, he mostly misses that this wasn't the answer he's given.]
Good.
[It's sort of a requirement that boyfriends should say that. Even his does, despite also finding other people beautiful in ways Tay would rather he didn't.]
It's like you're not even real. You live for charity, don't judge appearances, you take in strays,.. tell me something you do that's bad or I'll stop believing all this is genuine. No one is perfect.. besides me.
[He laughs gently then makes sure to take anything Tay has in his hands away from him. Moving closer, he goes to offer his shoulder to him with one of Tay's arms over it.]
Come on. I'll show you where it is again. Just lean on me and I'll get you there.
[It takes some effort but Tay ends up on his feet and stumbling to his bed. As they get in the room, he leans in and presses a drunken kiss on his new friend's cheek.]
Thanks, baby.
[Sliding onto the bed, he passes out almost immediately.]

Come here. Let's get you sat down.

[Tay cheers (fortunately kinda quietly). He snickers and stumbles a bit as he gets up. Sitting down heavily, he pokes his new friend in the belly.]
I'm fine, sweetheart. I just need a little coffee. I'll be ready for more dancing, I swear.
no subject
Let me make you some. And get something for the scratches.
no subject
Mm, yes please. Would you put some schnapps in it too? Butterscotch if you have it. Hey! You need an espresso maker!
[Belatedly, he thinks of the other thing Gaura said.]
Scratches?
[He looks down at himself.]
You can see through my clothes?

[Gaura goes over to start making the coffee, setting it to start brewing while he goes to get some ice, herbs, and a couple cloths. These he brings over and kneels so he can look over that hand.]
The coffee will be ready in a few minutes.

Ugh, they ruined my manicure.
[He draws his hand back and stands. He unzips his pants and shoves them down to expose a scrap on his knee too.]
Look what they did to my leg too! Bastards.

Mm-hm. I could see you on the cover of a magazine with your high cheek bones and shape of your jawline. Your fiancé is a good match for you.
no subject
A magazine? I didn't know I'd be good for that.
[It's not like he knows what faces look like on those covers.]
no subject
[It's just a tease and clearly not one he means seriously as he predictably takes a big bite out of it.]
Why? Are you blind, Gaura Dear? Surely Henry has told you before.
no subject
In a way...
[Not literally blind but a sort of blindness. Not that he expects Tay to remember when he sobers up.]
Henry does let me know I'm beautiful though.
no subject
Good.
[It's sort of a requirement that boyfriends should say that. Even his does, despite also finding other people beautiful in ways Tay would rather he didn't.]
Much easier to keep your man if you are.
[Though not always.]
no subject
[What is considered beautiful? What isn't? He truly doesn't have a clue unless it comes to things like plants.]
Honestly I never think about my appearance. Or really the appearance of anyone at all.
no subject
It's like you're not even real. You live for charity, don't judge appearances, you take in strays,.. tell me something you do that's bad or I'll stop believing all this is genuine. No one is perfect.. besides me.
[He grins and laughs.]

I'm hardly perfect. I don't even try to be. I'm just a person like anyone else is.
no subject
[He starts to get up but doesn't manage to get out of the chair this time.]
no subject
Henry's asleep. It's alright.
no subject
[He sinks back against his chair and starts to close his eyes. Shaking himself awake again, he scrunches his nose.]
I don't remember where my bed is.
no subject
Come on. I'll show you where it is again. Just lean on me and I'll get you there.
