Aw! That's so sweet! You two have a real partnership going on. It's so beautiful to witness.

We're not the only ones. I've seen how you and yours are together. It's wonderful to witness.

They key is viewing relationships as actual partnerships, I think. Treating your lover as an equal is very important and I think there are a lot of people who get that wrong.

[pinkblinded]

That's true. I've seen it for myself in the past. Truly if more would just treat their partners as such then perhaps there'd be less heartbreak in the world.

The other thing, I think, is remembering that your partner is a whole person without you. They have their own inner world. Their whole point in existence isn't just to be your partner. That's just one role they play.

[pinkblinded]

[That makes him smile so warmly as he thinks about Henry with his studies and how invested he gets in them.]

I love that Henry is his own person with his own passions and interests. When we met we'd spend hours on the couch or in his room and he would just tell me all about the things he'd been reading or learning. It would often go so long that I'd fall asleep and he'd just make sure I was warm and safe.

We still do that and I treasure every moment of watching him just as himself. It's breathtaking whether I can see the emotions or not. Because they're always in his voice and always have been.

That's so sweet! He has his studies, you have your garden and your baking.

(( Will wiggles a little at the mention of Gaura's sweet treats. ))

I have a feeling you two are going to have a very happy marriage.

[pinkblinded]

[His smile got so big and his cheeks colored to show how happy he is about that statement.]

I hope so. I truly love making him happy.

(( And there Will goes melting again. ))

I understand that feeling very well.

[pinkblinded]

It feels good. Fulfilling as well.

[He looks over at Will, gazing at his friend so fondly. Because he's so very happy for him.]

I'm truly glad you get to feel that way too.

[floralias]

To me, love and happiness are paramount. I'm not so naive as to think things will be good, but those are things I choose to focus on. When memories are all I have left of someone, I want to remember the best of them, not petty disagreements.

[pinkblinded]

I...I admit I don't have a lot of good memories of people I knew back in my world. Unfortunately.

[He sighs a little.] But I have made so many good ones here. So many precious to me.

[floralias]

(( He has a feeling Gaura's life wasn't an easy one. But he didn't want to press. Drudging up unhappiness is never a goal of his. Instead, Will reaches across the table and takes one of Gaura's hands. ))

You'll make so many more! I know it!

[pinkblinded]

[Taking that hand, he gives it a squeeze.]

With friends like you in my life, I know that I will. Thank you.

That's what friends are for.

(( Will smiled, finishing up the cake and taking another sip of coffee. He wiggles happily, beaming over at his new friend. ))

Can you show me around your garden?

[pinkblinded]

I would love to. Let me make you a fresh coffee to carry around so that way you can keep warm while we're outside.

[And he's up to get that started.]

(( That gives Will time to start pulling his layers back on in preparation for the cold. ))

You have a really nice place, Gaura.

Thank you. We were very lucky to have been given this place. I'm very grateful for it.

I feel like, maybe this sounds silly, but it really feels like you belong here in this house, you know? It's just very... you.

[pinkblinded]

You think so? [He lights up when he hears that because this is the first home that he's really felt like... No, that's not true. It's the second home. The place Henry had been living and invited him to had been the first one he'd felt like he really belonged there. The man had always made him feel so welcome.

Handing the coffee to Will, he smiles so brightly at him.]

I'm glad. Because I really love it here.

[floralias]

(( He snuggles into his coat and takes the coffee, curling both hands around it to keep himself warm as they head outside. ))

It shows. This place is full of love. I can feel it in the air.

[pinkblinded]

[He smiles then leads him outside to introduce him to all the plants of his vast garden. There's just about every kind of plant imaginable here and he's made sure they're all in environments where they can thrive. He even grabs his gloves to show him how he can grow new plants to add to the garden as well.]

It's gotten bigger than what I started with but honestly I'm really happy about that.

(( Gaura couldn’t ask for a more attentive and enthusiastic companion for this tour. Will spoke gently to the plants, happily babbling at them as if having a real conversation. And he ooh’s and ahh’d when Gaura showed Will his magical gloves. In turn, Will conjured up some of his namesake flowers. ))

[His cheeks color happily at the compliment and he so gently runs his fingers over the flowers that are his namesake.]

You know, not everyone likes these flowers. But I always have. I love that a variety of them even comes in my favorite color. When I ran away at sixteen I decided I wanted to be these flowers. There would be a lot of people in the world who wouldn't like me but somewhere there would be those who would. And I'd find happiness when I found them...

And you did find them. You have your dear Henry and me and others, I'm sure! I happen to be a friend to all flowers. I think, if I were an actual flower, I would be a bromeliad. It's not as pretty a name as Gaura, though.
